Exam pattern of SSC CGL Tier 2 exam:
SSC CGL Tier-2 exam is of 200 marks. Candidates are given 2 hours to complete each section of the exam. Students with disabilities are given 2 hours 40 minutes to solve the Tier-II exam.

- There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language & Comprehension) and 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.
- Candidates need to be careful while filling choices as this paper has Hindi/English as option.
- This exam is comparatively easy as compared to other exams but candidates have to score at least one third of the total marks to clear this exam.
- The time duration for PWD candidates in SSC CGL exam is 80 minutes.
SSC CGL Tier 3 Exam Syllabus:
SSC CGL 2021 Tier III Exam is a written test to analyze the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. This exam is offline and students have to write essay, summarization, application, letter, etc. in this exam. The exam will be of 100 marks and the time allotted for it is 60 minutes. The time allotted for candidates belonging to PWD category has been increased to 80 minutes. Tier-III paper is for only those candidates who are interested in the post of “Statistical Investigator Grade-II” and “Compiler”.
SSC CGL Tier 4 Exam Syllabus:
SSC CGL Tier-IV exam tests the skill sets required for certain government posts across the country.
- CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Generation of Slides are its three modules which are important for this exam and the commission will be responsible for CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner). The candidate for the post must be proficient in it.
- DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): For the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise & Income Tax), DEST exam through SSC CGL 2017 exam is conducted to check the typing speed of the candidate. Candidates are given an article in English, which they have to write on the computer. A candidate is required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes.
SSC CGL Tier-1 and SSC CGL Tier-2 exam is mandatory for all the posts mentioned in SSC CGL 2018 notification while Tier-3 is exclusively for the candidates applying for the post of Statistical Investigator Grade-II and Compiler . Similarly, Tier-IV exam is conducted for the candidates specially applied for TA, CSS, MEA and Inspector.
